During our meeting, this month, one of our members demonstrated a cute fun fold card. This is the version I made using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and coordinating tree punch. This card features a window on the front to see the tree on the inside. This will be the fun fold for Friday, October 23 featuring a different stamp set.
For that M&T I needed a piece of plaid DSP that measured 2″ x 2-1/2″. I punched out a tree using the punch. I was left with a negative piece of DSP. Rather than throw it away I decided to create another card.
Cutting & Scoring Measurements
- Crumb Cake card stock, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Cherry Cobbler card stock, 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ and 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4″
- Whisper White cardstock, 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Plaid Tidings DSP, 5-1/4″ x 3-1/2″, and 2″ x 2-1/2″
- scraps of Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green
Assembly
- Take the Crumb Cake card stock and score on the long side at 4-1/4″. Fold and burnish the scoreline. You are creating a landscape card.
- Adhere the 5-1/4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Plaid Tidings DSP to the 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock. Adhere this piece to the card base.
- From the 2″ x 2-1/2″ piece of DSP, punch out a tree and set aside (for the inside of the card). Adhere the DSP piece to the right side of the Cherry Cobbler piece.
- Stamp one of the trees (your choice) using the three inks, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green, to three pieces of cardstock and punch with the tree punch. Mount all trees with dimensionals.
- Tie three bows using Linen Thread and mount with glue dots.
- Stamp the greeting in Cherry Cobber ink to a piece os Whisper White and trim. Mount to the card with mini dimensionals.
- Adhere three copper stars to the top of the trees.
- Adhere the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card. Adhere the plaid punched tree to the bottom right corner.
Now please hop on over to the next post for another Christmas project.
Happy stamping.
