This is a cute and simple fun fold you can make. Once you understand the dynamics, it’s quite easy especially if you follow my directions in the video below. The stamp set used is called Wrapped in Christmas and the Designer Series Paper is called ‘Tis the Season, a 6″ x 6″ paper pack.
To prepare the card base, you will score on the long side at 5-1/2″ and then cut 1-1/4″ off one of the sides. This piece will be used for the flap. The key to attaching the flap to the card is to adhere it beneath the strip of DSP rather than wrap it to the backside of the card. You will see what I mean in the video.
Be sure to stamp the greeting and any other design elements on the Whisper White inside panel before you adhere it to the card base. That way, should you muck up, you can flip it over and stamp again.
The first card I created to test the design I made in Cherry Cobbler, a monochromatic card.
Cutting & Scoring Measurements
- Shaded Spruce cardstock, 4-1/4″ x 11, scored at 5-1/2″
- Cherry Cobbler cardstock, 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Whisper White cardstock, 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
- DSP, 4″ x 4″ & 4″ x 1″
I used the Circles dies to create the greeting for the flap along with the 1-1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out the circular greeting.
