Have you heard church bells on Saturdays during the last couple of months? How about seeing those beautiful long limosines? Well, I have – and that’s because June and July seem to be the most popular months for weddings here in Victoria. Actually, they are not. Did you know that December is the most popular month for engagements with August being the most popular month for weddings. And if you are interested in other wedding related FAQs, take a look at this interesting site.
Several members of our Seashore Stampers group participated in our monthly card swap and created some beautiful wedding cards for our meeting on July 21. Some of those ladies will be participating in this month blog hop so you will be able to see their creations here as well as mine.
So, let me explain why there are two cards. My first idea was to create interlocking hearts using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Well, for whatever reason, after cutting about six of the hearts, I started to struggle getting the paper out of the die. So, because I was pressed for time, oh, did I say this card was for a swap with the members of our Seashore Stampers group, I had to change up the design. so on the other card I used the ovals framelits. I still created an interlocking theme.
I created a gatefold card using Whisper White thick cardstock and Mint Macaron for the panel layers. I cut two pieces of vellum and embossed them with the layered leaves embossing folder, which happens to be one of my favourites. I chose to use the new pink colour in the collection called Petal Pink. The stamped floral images are from the new Pop of Petals stamp set which has a coordinating punch called the Four Petal Flower. The greeting on the inside panel is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, a wonderful set of paired greetings for the exterior and interior of the card.
The word love is a thinlit from the same set as the heart. You cannot see it in the photos, but I did use Wink of Stella on the flowers and the new Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins and some pearls.
I loved how both cards turned out and decided the ladies would have to fight it out as to which card they wanted for their swap collections. Luckily no fighting occurred.
