If you are coming from another Seashore Stamper’s blog, welcome.
This month’s theme are the colours red and white. Since Canada Day is just around the corner, I decided to make a card using the Ruffled embossing folder that I had purchased earlier this year yet had never used. Recently I saw a card that had created a layer of ruffles and it reminded me of a flag waving in the wind.
So, for my card, I used Real Red for the card base. I then cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4 inches and did a red watercolour wash to create the flag colours. Shimmery White cardstock is fantastic for use with watercolouring techniques.
After it dried, I ran it through the Big Shot in the Ruffled folder.
I used the Colorful Seasons stamp which returned to the catalogue for another year. I love this set as it has images useful for all seasons and has coordinating framelits, such as the fabulous maple leaf and the Adirondack chair. To add a bit of sparkle, I used the Wink of Stella pen on the leaf. This was a fairly simple card to make but quite effective I think.

Last year one of my team members, Adrienne, had a Canada Day card making class that I attended. She made some fabulous designs for Canada’s 150th celebration. Be sure to check her blog to see what she comes up with this year. Click on the images below to move around the blog contributors.
