At the time I filmed the tutorial (below) I didn’t know the type of fun fold I was making. Later on, it came to me. It’s a Joy Fold variant. Ugh! That word variant is not a good word to use right now because of all the Covid talk.
Anyway, back to a more cheerful topic – that of card making using gorgeous papers. For this card, I pulled out the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper. I just love the colours in this paper. Great for summer and into the fall season. You had best get a pack now as it will soon be retiring. It’s still available: item #152488 and it’s on sale for $8. This paper coordinates beautifully with the Daisy Lane stamp set and two daisy punches (info below).
Typically, a Joy Fold card uses the piece that is cut off the front. But instead, I chose to use the fabulous Stitched Nested Labels dies that since creating this card are sold out and no longer available. Boohoo!
While making this card during the video I made a fumble with the cutting so you are best to follow these measurements when preparing your pieces.
Cutting & Scoring Measurements
- Old Olive card base: 4-1/4″ x 11
- Basic White: 4-1/8″ x 3-1/8″ and 4-1/8″ x 1-7/8″ (emboss these two pieces)
- Basic White: 4-1/8″ x 3-3/8″ (inside layer)
- DSP: 4″ x 3″ and 4″ x 1-5/8″
The stamp set that coordinates with this paper is called Ornate Style and as of writing is still available in the online store. I used the daisy stamp for the envelope.
I used the two daisy punches (item #143713 for the large daisy and item #149517 for the smaller daisy), both are still available as well as the Sprig punch (item #148012).
