There is a fun fold commonly called a Corner Flip Fold. I first saw this card made by Dawn Griffiths of Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts. Here is a link to her most recent video on this fold. The issue I have with this one is that if you don’t cut exactly to the measurements, the fold doesn’t line up correctly.
I decided to cheat and make it easier to create and show you how in the video below.
During the video, I make reference to a childhood memory and then totally forg0t to tell the story. Well, here it is. It was a hot and humid day (Montreal style) and I needed a cool treat fast. I was in grade school and my brain wasn’t fully developed to even consider the consequences of my upcoming actions. I headed straight down to our local 7-Eleven type store (called a depanneur, a convenience store) and with money my mom had just given me, I bought a fudgesicle, my favourite summer treat. When I removed the wrapper the fudgesicle was totally frosted over – I mean you couldn’t even tell that it was chocolate. It was so appealing with the tiny drops of ice all over it and I could feel the coolness emanating from it. Now, think of this; it was a super hot and humid day – Montreal style – a little girl, hot from her walk to the store. Just guess what she did! She stuck that glistening, frosty fudgesicle right inside her mouth and closed her lips around it. I don’t remember relief – a relief to have something to cool my body down. No, I only remember the shock and horror to find I couldn’t remove it from my mouth. It was glued in. No matter how I pulled and tugged, it was not coming out. Did I pay for it? I cannot remember. What I do remember is running home as fast as I could with tears running down my cheeks and then so happy to find my mother in the kitchen and knowing she could rescue me. Sure enough, she stuck my head beneath the tap and let the warm water run over my face onto my lips. When the fudgesicle was removed from my mouth, half-melted, and my lips in shreds, my mother stood back and said to me, ” Erica, for heaven’s sake, did you not learn your lesson from licking the bus stop pole last winter?”
Other than cutting out the square pieces for the outside and inside of the card, there is no cutting on the card base.
