Today, October 1, is World Cardmaking Day. I initially thought this was an initiative started by Stampin’ Up!, but it’s not. However, the company, as well as many demonstrators and customers love to celebrate it by making a card on this day.
A Google search of ‘world cardmaking day’ brought me to this interesting site. It delves into the history of this day and how you can celebrate.
My plan is to make more customer thank you cards. I love to have a small supply of these on hand so I can include one in each customer order. These are usually 3×3 inches in size because, well, they are just so cute. I started making these cards when Stampin’ Up! sold small envelopes for 3 x 3 cards. Unfortunately they no longer sell these but that doesn’t deter me; I simply pull out my envelope punch board and from one sheet of 8.5 x 11, I can make three 3×3 cards.

I’m including a link to a video by Stampin’ Up! on a watercolour technique called ‘watercolour lifting’. I’m going to made my cards based on this technique. So, if you can, make a bit of time tomorrow to make a card with this technique and send to someone you care about – a simple thank you for, well, just because.
