It’s all about the red and the white this month to celebrate, or rather recognize Canada’s birthday.
This year, it’s about recognizing the day rather than celebrating with family, friends and the community as all public events have been cancelled.
I have been eager to use the border dies from the Ornate Garden Suite of products on pages 64-67 of the Annual Catalogue. There are two stamp and die sets in this suite. Once set is all about greetings of thanks, the other is the floral images to coordinate with the gorgeous Ornate Garden designer series paper. You must check this suite out.
Here are the steps I used to create the front of the card.
Start with a standard A2 sized card base (Thick Whisper White cardstock that measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored on the long side at 4-1/4″).
Trim 2″ from the front and set it aside.
Adhere a piece of Real Red cardstock that measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ to the inside of the front panel.
Take the 2″ piece and trim it using one of the lace border dies (from the Ornate Borders die set).
The daisies are from the Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating daisy punches (one large and one small)
A simple Happy Birthday greeting completes the card.
Hop on over the the next blog to enjoy Miran’s entry and continue hopping to see them all.
Happy Canada Day everyone.
