Our country’s birthday is just around the corner.
Welcome to our June Seashore Stampers blog hop featuring a red and white theme.
The new Annual catalogue went live June 4 and I’ve had two shipments thus far filled with new products. I’ve been busily crafting cards and other projects for display at my annual catalogue launch on Saturday, June 29. Being a bird lover, I’m favouring the Bird Ballad suite and decided to make this card.
The technique used to create this raised image is called ‘eclipse’. You stamp one or several images and colour if necessary. Choose a die to cut out a shape then mount it back in the image with dimensionals.
I first saw this technique used with the letters framelits, which we no longer carry unfortunately.
If you are lucky enough to have a set of alphabet dies, then search YouTube for this technique. It was used a lot for the holiday season with the word ‘joy’ cut out.
I used the Stampin’ Blends to colour the images. These alcohol markers made it easy to colour and shade like a true artist. With two shades, light and dark, for each colour, shading and highlighting your images is easily done.
The ‘happy birthday’ image is from the Special Celebrations stamp set. This is one of my ‘go to’ sets for sentiments. I stamped ‘Canada’ with the Make A Difference letter set, another ‘go to’ sets because if I cannot find the perfect sentiment, I can stamp my own.

I added red rhinestone jewels which were introduced in last year’s Holiday Catalogue and are still available.
I hope you enjoy this card as well as the other creations from our other members.
