Seashore Stampers Blog Hop – Quick & Easy Christmas Card

Next week is December!!! Caught you by surprise?? Don’t have enough hand-made Christmas cards ready to send out?

Well this post will hopefully give you an idea for a quick & easy card design. And if you want to make multiple cards at the same time, the key is to measure all your card stock and cut out all the elements. Assembly then becomes much easier. With the same size card base, you can make two orientations, one portrait, the other landscape.

The stamp set I used is the Christmas Pines with the coordinating framelits for the pine cones. I also used the scallop oval from the layering oval framelits and an oval from the Stitched Framelits set.

Card Supplies:
You will need a card base that measures 8.5 x 11, scored at 4-1/4; one is cherry Cobbler, the other in Early Espresso.
DSP (designer series paper) that measures 4 x 5-1/4 inches.
Scrap Whisper White for stamping.
Scrap Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso for the scalloped ovals.

I prefer stamping then cutting so I took pieces of scrap Whisper White card stock and stamped my images then cut them out with the framelits. If you double up the card stock, you can two at the same time. Do the same for the pine cones.

And here’s a tip for gluing the laced pine cone to the pine cone base. Put some white glue on a piece of scrap copy paper and use a sponge to pick up the glue, then dab it on the back of the laced pine cone. If you have the silicone mat, that’s the perfect surface for using glue. I then keep my sponge is a small plastic container so it doesn’t dry out.
