Well, the year is closing down and we’re bringing in the New Year by hosting a dinner with our good friends. On the dinner menu, lobster claws. Can’t wait!
I can’t think of a better way to bring in the New Year than making a card to celebrate 2017. I’m using the stamp set called It’s a Celebration from the Holiday catalogue. This set will also be perfect for Canada Day cards.
The card base is Smoky Slate with a Whisper White layer cut at 4 x 5-1/4 inches. I used a circle punch to create the hole for the sparkler.
To create a firework display background, I used the red and green glitters from the Holiday catalogue and some silver.
I used Silver Stampin’ Glitter for the sparkler but had to use Heat & Stick Powder first to make the glitter stick well otherwise it just blew off. I cut this piece down to 3 x 3 and stuck it behind the circle with dimensionals.
I added dimensionals to the background piece then adhered it to the card base.
I’m really happy with how the card turned out — a little bit of work but beautiful results.
