Hello everyone,
Do I dare ask the question: Are you ready for the holidays??? Well I am not!
I do have a lot of hand made Christmas cards ready to go and some gift packaging ideas – mostly treat packaging for chocolates and candy. I do love to give gift cards too so holders are always fun to make.
Following this month’s blog hop theme, I decided to make one project that incorporates the theme of a card and small package idea. And here it is!
I got this idea from Brandi’s Cards and thought it brilliant. A gift card fits perfectly inside this little envelope on the front of the card. If you’d prefer, you could put the envelope on the inside instead.
What I really liked about this card is how easy it was to make and I love any card that uses left over pieces of Designer Series Paper. Also, you only need one stamp image and a set of framelits – you could use the circles, squares or ovals. Then, add any other embellishments you like.
To show you how this is put together, cause there is a great tip, I’ll post a video next week. In the meantime, you could get your materials together and then make one while you watch.
Here are the basic materials you will need:
Real Red card base 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 inches.
Scrap piece: 3-3/4 x 5″
DSP: 3-3/4 x 5″
For the gift card: 4 x 3-3/8″
Glimmer paper strip: 1/2 x 5-1/2″
Choose a greeting and select an appropriate framelit set or you could use punches
